T6 Roadster

I started the T6 Project with a new Volvo S80 T6 (testcar). I used the straight 6 cyl. twin turbo engine, the electrical system, parts of the brake system with ABS and the stearing-rack.

I started making the chassi in steel with a tubular subframe at the front and rear. The front suspension has double A-arms in stainless steel, a composite leaf spring and Öhlins shock absorbers. Öhlins coil covers are mid mounted at the rear. Mounted Brakes are 6-pot TAR-OX calipers with 330 mm TAR-OX ventilated disks.

The 300hp engine sits directly behind the seats and has an automatic gearbox with a secquensial mode.

After the chassi I started making a wooden mould for the body, it took about three months to complete. I also made wooden moulds for the carbon fibre front hood, the glass roof, side windows and front and rear lights.

The whole body is made of aluminium and formed using an “English wheel” and tig-welded together. Some of the parts are glued together. My idea with this project was to design and build a car utilizing different Volvo forms. The rear hood is shaped like the Volvo P 1800, the rear lights are a retro copy of an old Volvo PV 444, the grill like the new Volvo cross country, the shape of the sides like Volvo Amazon and the new C70, S60, S80…. And everything should have a factory look. The body took two years to finish. The car is painted in a light green colour with gold mica and clear coat. The wheels are 22*10 and 20*8,5 and from Khan design. The sizes of the Dunlop tires are 22*30*285 and 20*35*245

The dashboard is made of aluminium, painted and dressed in dark grey leather. All of the interior panels are made of carbon fibre and dressed in leather.
